Sumpter v Hedges [1898] 1 QB 673

This case considered the issue of restitution and whether or not a builder was able to recover on a quantum meruit basis an amount of work done on a house which remained unfinished even though the original contract merely provided for payment on a lump sum basis once the construction was finished.
